Traditionally, real estate investment required substantial capital, often limiting participation to high-net-worth individuals or institutional investors. Real estate crowdfunding has broken down these barriers, allowing anyone passionate about property investment to join the game. This can encompass a variety of property types, including residential, commercial, or industrial real estate.
How Real Estate Crowdfunding Works?
Crowdfunding is a fundraising method that allows people or businesses to raise money directly from a large group of investors online. Real estate crowdfunding involves the collective
investment in real estate projects through dedicated online platforms. It allows investors to contribute smaller amounts of money and participate in a diverse range of properties that were once only accessible to high-net-worth individuals or institutions. Platforms are serving as intermediaries, connecting investors with viable projects.
According to Vantage Market Research, the global Real Estate Crowdfunding market grew to USD 11.5 billion in 2022 and it is estimated to be valued at USD 161.8 billion by 2030.
Democratizing Real Estate Investment
The democratisation of real estate investment through crowdfunding is a game-changer. Now, investors can diversify their portfolios with smaller amounts of capital, spreading risk across multiple projects. This approach also provides an opportunity to invest in different types of real estate assets, from residential developments to commercial spaces, promoting a more diverse and accessible investment environment.
