MIPIM 2024

Panel – Gender Equality as a prerequisite for developed economies

Key issues concerning the equality of women in business were discussed at the event called ‘Successes, Challenges and the Future of Women in Business’, organized by the AmCham Serbia. Through partnerships with relevant institutions and organisations, as well as with active participation in projects like ‘She Knows – Project for Economic Empowerment of Women’, supported by USAID, AmCham seeks to empower women in the working environment and help remove obstacles that affect their professional development and work, with the ultimate goal of developing a better society. Brankica Jankovic, Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, spoke at the event, Jelena Mihajlovic, Manager of the USAID’s project ‘She Knows’, Gaia Montelatici, Co-Founder & CEO, Impact Hub, Stefan Lazarevic, President of AmCham Serbia and Nemanja Drobnjak, Chief Operating Officer, CBS International. Panellists underlined the importance of developing a culture of gender equality in the business environment, with the active involvement and support of men. BEL Hospice Humanitarian Tournament

Our women’s team at the traditional 14th charity bowling tournament organized by Belhospice. All raised funds from the companies’ donations at the tournament, will be used for the implementation of free palliative care services for oncology patients and their family members.

Conference Let’s Talk About Real Estate Market

CBS International traditionally gathered the banking sector for the 5th time to summarize the real estate market in 2023 and highlight predictions for the upcoming period. At the conference held at the Museum of Contemporary Art, experts from the CBS International Serbia Team presented the latest real estate market figures for 2023 to prominent representatives of banks and outlined trends for the forthcoming period. The main idea was to analyse market segments from the perspective of valuers and brokers. Marta Sredojevic and Uros Kokman MRICS RV presented the office market of Belgrade and Novi Sad, which has become increasingly attractive to both investors and tenants. Tamara Kostadinovic and Dusan Miletic gave insight into the Serbian retail market, where smaller cities are also witnessing the construction of retail parks in addition to larger cities. Mina Kalezic and Slobodan Repija gave an overview of the trends in the residential market, especially regarding the expectations as per the pricing and demand volumes. One of the topics also covered Serbian industrial market and renewable energy sources. Isidora Mrvic focused on the hotel market and what to expect in this segment, while Nenad Suzic presented the capital market trends in the CEE market. At the end of the presentation, representatives of the banking sector had an opportunity to share their opinions on the current situation and future investments in the economy. The conclusion was that, apart from commercial projects, the expectation is that the largest investments in the next five years will be in renewable energy sources, and the gathering concluded with a visit to the exhibition of famous Serbian painter Nadezda Petrovic.

ESG – HR Perspective Forum

AmCham Serbia has orginized HR Forum event about ESG principles and their impact on human resources professionals, with a specific emphasis on the potential of diversity, equality, and inclusion policies in the business environment. During an open conversation and panel discussion, company representatives shared examples of best practices. Andrijana Aleksić Jevtić, Executive Director for Human Resources and Organization Management at NLB Komercijalna Banka, served as the host. Mila Branković, People & Culture Manager from IKEA Serbia, recognized as AmCham’s ESG Champion for 2023 and Goran Zivkovic, Managing Director of CBS International Serbia, were among the panelists. Ana Vidović, Vice Chair of AmCham HR Forum from PepsiCo, moderated the discussion. The panel focused on the “S” (Social) component, with an emphasis on diversity and addressing inequality issues. Participants shared experiences and strategies aimed at creating a more inclusive work environment.

  1. Starbucks coffee is coming to Serbia! The First Starbucks coffeeshop will open soon in Belgrade with the professional support of the CBS International Retail team.
  2. CBS International started the new year by presenting the latest trends in all segments of the real estate market to representatives of the banking sector. At the conference held in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, expert consultants from the CBS International team gathered some of the most prominent representatives of the banks where they presented relevant real estate data from the previous year and the expectations for the upcoming period. The previous year recorded extremely positive trends in all segments, whether it is the number of built square meters, the supply and demand ratios, the volume of investment transactions or the number of leased square meters of office space, while our country is becoming more and more interesting to foreign investors.
  3. Our capital city is going to be richer with a new contemporary residential- commercial complex ZepTerra. The construction will begin in spring 2019, in New Belgrade, in the immediate vicinity of a well-known business park Airport City Belgrade. This project will cover 100,000 square meters, with structures ranging from studios to 4-bedroom apartments and already in the first phase of the sales there will be 227 residential units with an adequate number of parking spaces.
